Final Blog

Above are my last & final concentration pieces . After all i think i did pretty well on my concentration by keeping the connection through out every photograph.
I really liked the theme because I actually love old buildings. I love the look & the history & how it makes you wonder what went on in that old building or that old house so many years ago.
I tried to explore that through my photos . I wanted it to be in black and white to show mystery and make people wonder about the building itself then see the beauty in the color that was high-lighted.
I tried to use all different types of buildings so i had to drive around a bit to find interesting ones & other times i would just be out and spot one that i would love which made it better for my concentration.
Over all, i am happy with how it turned out.

7-10

How I've grown ?
Since it's getting warmer out, i've been able to actually walk around outside and get better photos.
I think this has definitely shown in my past four concentrations.
My concentration has become stronger because I'm searching for older, more run down buildings to show more of a story and have more emphasis on the meaning of all of this.

5-6

Concentrtion #5
 Concentration #6

My perspective of this project has changed slightly. I really like how my works are turning out but i wanted to make the color of whatever was highlighted stand out more.
Instead of just choosing to color the thing I thought was beautiful I want to have something in color that can get the viewers attention.
For instance; in concentration # 6 the doors are brown and I was trying to get the effect of thinking "what's behind those doors?" I think I succeeded in capturing that effect in this picture . All thought I want to get a different viewers' effect I want to have the same meaning in my photography . In concentration #4 I just had the color of what I felt was beautiful about that building stand out .

Blog Entry #3

  • My work shows growth and development by exploring the aspects of the new idea. It portrays a new beauty to the buildings.
  • The original idea was just old buildings but then I realized that many people don't like old buildings and that I need to show the beauty in them. Recently I decided that I should not just show the buildings but use the color as a way to tell a story about the history of the building. - I still like this idea because I have such a broad range of buildings to choose from to use in my photos.
  • My idea for my next piece : It is supposed to snow a lot soon so I am hoping to get the snow on the buildings to get an older look to add to the buildings.

This is my visual resource. I love the cracked windows and the dark clouds in the back .

a new approach

So, I'm not changing my theme but for some pictures I want to approach them in a different way. I want to get more historical buildings as well and use color to show the history/story of the building.

I want the story to be shown through color. I want the viewer to imagine the story within the building & to imagine something that happened in that area.

Number 3

I don't think this one is as good but it has been very cold out lately so that makes it harder to get pictures.

Second concentration piece

This is a small building near my home.
It isn't that run down but you can
see it's getting there by the rust and
old look of the building .
